I was thinking, how can I bring the word “Dream” to life, then it hit me. There were many inspirations for turning the letters into islands. One of the inspirations came from my own dream even, so I ran with that idea and added other features that make the word pop even more, such as the bubbles in a seamless void and the dragon. As for my poster that almost insultingly Screams “Dead,” I had to think how can I make that theme provident. Well, the mulch and the concrete are evident enough, but there’s one more thing, the tree. The viewer doesn’t know if the tree is dead or not, and it is up to them to decide if the tree is really dead, or there is visual irony in the photo.
